About the Double Shaft Shredder (D Series)
The SLECOTECH Double Shaft Shredder (D Series) is a heavy-duty, low-speed twin-shaft machine for the toughest heterogeneous feeds. Two intermeshing shaft sets shear material with high torque, making it ideal for dense, contaminated or entangled waste streams.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between double shaft and double rotor shredders?
Both use two rotors, but the D Series uses intermeshing shear shafts for dense, hard objects, while the T Series uses counter-rotating rotors for high-volume light waste. Pick D for toughness, T for throughput.
Can the D Series shred whole tires?
Yes – tires are a classic D Series application. For steel-belted truck tires, pre-cutting or a subsequent granulator improves downstream separation.
Is the D Series suitable for metal?
It handles light metal and drums, but thick solid steel should be avoided or pre-cut. Ferrous separation downstream is recommended to protect downstream equipment.
How are the cutters maintained?
Cutters are hard-faced and removable; worn segments are flipped or replaced without dismantling the whole shaft, keeping downtime short.
