About the Plastic Crusher / Granulator (C Series)
The SLECOTECH Plastic Crusher (C Series) is a high-speed granulator that reduces rigid plastics and film into uniform flakes or regrind. It sits downstream of shredders to hit the fine particle size needed for washing, extrusion or direct reuse.
Key Applications
- Rigid plastic lumps and purgings
- Blow-moulded and injection scraps
- Plastic film and bags (with proper rotors)
- PET and HDPE bottles
- Sprues, runners and in-house production scrap
Technical Advantages
- High-speed rotor with scissors-cut action for low dust and uniform flakes
- Water-cooled bearing housings for continuous running
- Fully sound-damped enclosure for a quieter shop floor
- Adjustable gap and screen for precise flake size
- Easy-open chamber for fast cleaning and colour changes
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a crusher and a shredder?
A shredder coarsely pre-cuts bulky material at low speed; a crusher (granulator) finely grinds it at high speed into uniform flakes. They are usually paired: shred first, then crush.
Can the C Series handle both rigid plastic and film?
Yes, with the right rotor and knife configuration. Rigid plastic and film need different blade geometries, so tell us your dominant material when ordering.
What flake size does it produce?
Flake size depends on the screen; typical regrind is a few millimetres. We size the screen to your washing or extrusion requirement.
How do I keep flakes clean between colours?
The chamber opens fully for quick cleaning, and a colour-change routine (vacuum or manual wipe-down) prevents cross-contamination between runs.
