About the Single Shaft Shredder (S Series)
The SLECOTECH Single Shaft Shredder (S Series) is a low-speed, high-torque rotary shredder built for continuous, single-pass size reduction of bulky and friable materials. A hydraulic pusher feeds material evenly into the cutting rotor, keeping the load stable and protecting the drivetrain.
Key Applications
- Plastic lumps, purgings, pipes and profiles
- Wooden pallets, crates and biomass
- Rubber and foam offcuts
- Electronic scrap and cables (pre-shredding)
- Paper, cardboard and confidential documents
Technical Advantages
- Energy-saving drive with overload protection and auto-reverse on jam
- Quick-change welded/bolt-on rotor blades for low maintenance downtime
- Adjustable screen assures consistent output particle size
- Compact footprint with integrated hydraulic power pack
- CE-compliant safety guards and emergency stops
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials can a single shaft shredder process?
A single shaft shredder handles plastics, wood, rubber, foam, paper and light e-waste. Very hard or tangling metals are excluded; for tires or mixed MSW a twin-shaft unit is usually preferred.
How is the output size controlled?
Output size is set by the discharge screen aperture. Smaller screens give finer flakes but lower throughput; the S Series lets you swap screens to match the downstream process.
What maintenance does the S Series need?
Mainly periodic blade inspection and rotation/replacement, hydraulic oil checks and screen cleaning. Blades are bolt-on, so changeovers are quick and do not require welding on site.
Single shaft vs double shaft shredder – which should I choose?
Choose single shaft for uniform, controllable particle size and higher fines; choose double shaft for shredding very bulky, mixed or tangling feeds where throughput matters more than particle consistency.
